Meet Our Bishop & First Lady
The Family Man
Bishop Philip R. Jackson is a loving husband, father, and proud grandfather. He and his wife, Lady Delores C. Jackson have been married for more than 50+ years. They have three sons, Elder Philip II (Celisa), Deacon Eric (Aiyana) and Jason (Theresa), and three grandsons Philip III, Brandon, and Junior Deacon Kyle. Bishop Jackson is a native of Detroit, Michigan where he graduated from Central High School. He has been a member of Seth Temple, formerly Livingstone Street, which is the Mother Church of the churches of God in Christ in the State of Michigan, all of his life.
The Career Man
In March 1965, he was hired at Ford Motor Company as a Production Operator and then promoted to Production Supervisor. A year later he was promoted to Utility Supervisor; and the following year promoted to General Supervisor in Production, for which he served for 5 years. He transferred to the Maumee Ohio Stamping Plant to assist in the opening of the new facility. He continued to be quickly promoted at Ford to the Production Superintendent, Shift Manufacturing Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and finally to Area Manager at the Dearborn Frame Plant, where he remained until he retired May 15, 1996.
The Clergy Man
In May of 1967, he was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost; as a result, God released an unusual anointing on his life. He began his ministry under the pasturage and tutelage of the late Bishop John Seth Bailey. On July 19, 1987, he was appointed Pastor of Seth Temple Church of God in Christ.
The Visionary
In July 2014, he purchased a 44,000 square foot facility in Farmington Hills, Michigan, now known as Greater Seth Temple Sanctuary of Praise Church of God in Christ, mortgage-free. “And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end of it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2, 3
